Hanes Plays Ball

Back in early 2015 you voted Hanes the best men’s underwear, prompting our early 2017 premium underwear vote. When we say “premium”, we’re talking about fabrics and features, not prices. MeUndies kicked off a men’s basics revolution several years ago, and as they say, a rising... something raises all ships.

Hanes’ newer offerings include modal underwear, the fabric of choice at companies like MeUndies, and pouches, standard from companies like Saxx, that support your valuables while giving them room to breathe.

The Hanes Ultimate Men’s Comfort Flex Fit line is 38% modal, a lower ratio than the competition, and has a less-defined pouch and a heavily branded waistband, but as you voted in 2015, it’s the economy, stupid. Hanes’ option goes for $18 for a 4-pack on Amazon, and that’s before the inevitable discounts and hopefully a Subscribe and Save integration. That’s $4.50/pair, or about a fourth the price of MeUndies’ MSRP.

No, Hanes isn’t going to take over my underwear drawer moving forward, but their new offerings are an excellent option for the price that beats the hell out of 100% cotton.
