Koogeek's Smart Scale Is Fast, Attractive, and Even Includes Wi-Fi

In the age of Fitbits, there’s a real pressure to quantify everything about your body. And while I’m not sure why I need minute-by-minute heart rate and blood oxygen readings on a graph, it does make a whole lot of sense if you’re watching your weight.

Koogeek’s smart scale isn’t the only one of its kind, but it’s one of the best looking bathroom scales I’ve ever seen, and also the fastest I’ve ever tried myself. The best part though is that it includes Wi-Fi, in addition to the standard Bluetooth connection you usually get with these things.

The way most of these scales work is via a direct Bluetooth connection to your phone, which requires you to have your phone nearby, and to open it to a specific app. The Koogeek will still do things this way if you prefer (and you might, I’ll explain later), but you can also type your home Wi-Fi password into the app, and it will sync your data in the background via Koogeek’s cloud servers, so you can download it to your phone later.

This feature works as advertised, but for some reason, only measurements synced over Bluetooth seem to write to Apple’s Health app. I like keeping my data in Health so I can check it alongside other measurements from my Apple Watch, and so I know it will be safe if the scale breaks or Koogeek’s servers go haywire, so keep that in mind before you purchase.
