Buy Committee: Should I Buy Tailwind to Help Fuel My Workouts?

It’s finally nice enough outside that running doesn’t sound nearly as miserable as it did before. And for some who want to take it up a notch, athlete-endorsed sports drinks, like Tailwind, promise a better experience. But reader stopitforrealjuststop isn’t so sure if it’d be worth it.

I’ve got some Tailwind in my cart, which is an electrolyte sports drink powder thingy.

I don’t really need it as I’m not yet back to being able to run long enough to refuel on the run, and it’s kind of expensive to try. I wish they had a sample box like Amazon was doing last year where the samples ended up being free when you purchased the products.

So, Buy Committee (that’s you), scroll down to the comments to share your experiences with your Tailwind, or any other electrolyte-packing drinks. Help stopitforrealjuststop figure out whether to actually pick some up, and maybe which flavor to get.

I happen to think that sports drinks are basically useless, unless you just prefer the taste to regular water. No miracle liquid, no matter how many beautifully sculpted people endorse them, can replace healthy food and rest. So, I’d suggest saving the money you’d spend on sports drinks on a really great pair of running shoes.
