These Are the Two Best USB Travel Chargers, According To Our Readers

Two travel-friendly USB chargers stood out from the pack this week, and they couldn’t be more different. It’s the tiny Aukey dual-port charger vs. Anker’s much larger PowerCore Fusion, which justifies its size with a built-in battery pack. Which one belongs in your travel bag? See what our readers said below, and don’t forget to vote at the bottom of the page.

Editor’s Note: We also received a number of recommendations for Anker’s PowerPort 5+, which is a fine product, and part of the product line that won our USB charging hub Co-Op. That said, the fact that it requires an external power cord disqualifies it this round.

Aukey USB Wall Charger

Hands down. The same size as the iPhone wall wart but with two ports. Folds into a smaller brick. The only thing I don’t love is the super bright LED light but that was solved with a teensy square of tape. - AllieF

Editor’s Note: It’s actually a little larger than the Apple charger, but not by much.

Anker PowerCore Fusion

This has been a lifesaver with it’s ability to work as a battery pack when not plugged into the wall. No QC is a downside, but not as big a deal when I can use it as a battery pack when away from the wall. Only thing that can be hit or miss is whether the plug is too hefty to remain in an airplane seat power outlet. - hoyadan
