Nomad makes some of our favorite charging accessories, including my current (get it?) external battery pack of choice. Your desk and nightstand will fight over their latest: a USB hub with wireless charging and USB-C.
Nomad’s hub is reminiscent of the Native Union Eclipse Charger, but the latter is far more limited in functionality. The Nomad Hub’s large surface outputs 7.5W, while the 30W max output will be fast enough for a MacBook but nothing more serious than that.
The most interesting features of the Nomad Hub are the charging indicator LEDs on its face, which go from orange to white when your device is topped off. They also claim to feature an ambient light sensor and dim accordingly, but I didn’t really notice a difference, and there’s no physical toggle to turn them off.
There’s not much out there that checks as many boxes as the Nomad Hub. It’s a little plastic-y for my taste, but looks great nonetheless, and charges pretty much everything while keeping your cables wrangled. It’s an easy recommendation, especially if you don’t need anything more powerful than 30W.
