I think if you own an Xbox, GamePass is a fantastic deal. Is it a good enough deal to get people to switch from a non-Microsoft platform? I doubt it.

For me, it was a no-brainer. I was already an Xbox guy (I’ve owned Playstations, but the friends I do the most gaming with have always been on Xbox, so it’s always been Read more

Yep, and here I go again 2 times in one thread, GeForce now has Epic’s support so you can play all those free games on GeForce now.  Also GFN is cheaper than XBOX game pass and you have access to your whole Steam Library locally (you can try over distance but YMMV I tried to play Death’s Gambit from my work and it was Read more

You forgot to add that XCloud is free with Game Pass Ultimate. I use that all the time at wo...err, the place I am at when I am not at home. You have to have a healthy connection to the internet and an android phone, but I was kicking ass in HALO:CE earlier this week between customers. Read more

I’d say GPU is still worth it on PC if you’re interested in the already listed MS titles with a few extras thrown in for the sake of playing through them. It may not be worth staying subbed to for extended periods of time at this moment however we’ll be getting all of the next gen games on PC day one as well as Read more

The big caveat for GamePass is that DLC is not included, and with day 1 DLC being the norm for a lot of games now (to encourage people to buy the higher tier versions), that can be a bummer. Still, you can play the game with the sub and decide if you want to get some DLC for it after, maybe while it’s on sale, so it’s Read more

The Microsoft Rewards program makes Game Pass/Live an amazing deal. I’ve got years and years of free Game Pass Ultimate just for going through a bing search ritual each day, answering some quizzes, and clicking on a bunch of stuff. It only takes a few minutes of time per day. Read more

The best deal in gaming, much as some folks are loath to admit it, is having the Epic Game Store installed. Free games released every week, with each month containing at least one, if not two or four, genuinely excellent games that were worth paying full price for on their release. There has never been a better time Read more

I WOULD say psnow is a better deal. Pushsquare put out a list of all the games available. And wow. That's a lot of games. But having some/most games only available through streaming, kinda knocks it off that perch.

You can also shop carefully on Game Pass Ultimate itself. Between Black Friday deals and a deal last summer I was able to get GPU for $20 for 3 months (with a limit of 3) twice.  18 months for $120, about $6.67 a month.  And that was through Target, not a key reseller.  So those deals are out there. Game Pass Ultimate is hard to beat. Sure, if you shop carefully, you can outprice GPU. However, GPU gives you access to nearly 300 Xbox games, 200 PC games, and 70 EA games. GPU also has Xbox Live Gold built into it. And it can’t be understated or overstated how GPU allows you to play games that you otherwise would Read more

I bought a Polk Audio Signa S2 during Prime Days for $150 - I am mildly hearing impaired and high-end gear is wasted on me, but I wanted a step up from the TV speakers. This had really good reviews. Setup was a tad frustrating, but that was about 90% user error and 10% instructions need to be a little more clear.

FF14 also translates pretty flawlessly to the PS5, albeit as a backwards compatible PS4 title. Thankfully, it’s coded well enough to take advantage of next gen hardware, that basically puts it on par with PC performance. Read more

Yeah, or if you have a full-fledged PC, don’t worry about it, either. I’ve got a 43" Toshiba FireTV, but I never actually use the “box” part of it...nice to know it’s there, but I can get literally every streaming service on my PC. The only upside is the ability to add an antenna, but I still haven’t used mine since Read more
