It’s subjective but I wouldn’t go through that much trouble just to get an increased points value on what you’ve banked and then get out. The signup bonuses you’re talking about passing on are more than your current points total. You also shouldn’t cancel cards, you can downgrade to a second Freedom instead. Read more

You don’t want to upgrade, because upgrades aren’t eligible for sign-up bonuses, and you won’t be able to downgrade back to the no-fee because that card isn’t offered anymore. They’re totally worth it without the sign up bonus, but they’re not worth missing the bonus for to have them sooner. You should wait for a time when you can definitely hit the bonus, and get a different no international fee card for now. Read more
