These Are the Three Best Makeup Removers

We asked for your favorite makeup removers and it seems that micellar water dominated the votes, with two out of the three top makeup removers being one. Bioderma was the original micellar water from France while Garnier has quickly risen in ranks in the US (which we’ve written about before). The third top makeup remover was a classic: Pond’s.

Read what others commented and be sure to vote for the best of the best. It’s time to crown the top makeup remover once and for all.

Garnier Micellar Water

Garnier Micellar Water — the one that removes waterproof makeup (blue cap). My face has been so clear since I started using it. On non-shower days, I use it in the morning to clean off sleep dirt. It’s the best skin care item I own. - JenisaurusRex

I came here to post this. It’s life changing!- kaymb

Yep! This stuff is fucking magic! - V.

Bioderma Micellar Water

A classic: Bioderma Sensibio H2O micellar water - the one that launched many copies, but it’s still the best. If it’s good enough for almost every makeup artist I know... I’ve been using it for years - before I had many skin problems, cystic outbreaks and dryness. Once I stopped washing my face with water and started to clean it twice daily with this, my problems disappeared. It also gets rid of all makeup, except waterproof mascara, but I don’t use that any way. - BlondeGoddess

Oh gosh for the love of everything that is holy BIODERMA MICELLAR WATER.

Sing it from the rooftops, ignore the $20 price tag-buy it, love it, worship it. It is my single most favorite skin care product!

I start with an oil cleanser, then finish with the bioderma. I know they have it on amazon, but they have the full Bioderma line on Beautylish.com - which is a wonderful company - Sisqocertified

Bioderma micellaire water is the bees knees. It quickly wipes away my mascara and face makeup and feels incredibly refreshing. I also use this to refresh myself in the morning on weekends if I want to have a cup of coffee and read for a bit before I wash my face and get dressed. I swab a bit onto a cotton pad and then wipe my face and in the corners of my eyes. I instantly feel refreshed and clean with virtually no effort the way I like it. I buy mine on Amazon in a twin pack usually because it is cheaper that way. - DanniellaBee

I honestly cannot believe that there are other suggestions. I thought the internet had already unanimously decided the answer was Bioderma Micellar Water. And yes, I pay up for it, too. - ShadyPinesMa

Pond’s Deep Cleaners & Make-up Remover

When it comes to makeup removal, I go old school with Pond’s. It’s in every drugstore in America so I don’t think you need the link but it’s inexpensive and it works. I do get free samples of makeup removal products when I buy my foundation from Macy’s but nothing they provide seems to do any better than this inexpensive basic. - DaisyLady

I came on here to say exactly this. After years of trying different strategies I went back to Ponds (I used to do theatre. And we used Abeline to get that mess off). My skin immediately felt fresher and cleaner. Love the stuff. - Sweet Little Buttercup

Definitely this!! It’s moisturizing and takes everything off! My grandmother has used this along with old school Olay since the beginning of time. She is now 96 years young and looks about 70ish. Absolutely gorgeous skin! - Kymmy
