AirPods are almost comically easy to lose, and basically impossible to find once you’ve misplaced them. Sure, Apple has a “Find My AirPods” feature, but it only works for loose AirPods outside of the charging case, not a complete, misplaced set. The solution staring us all in the face is, of course, a Tile tracker. They’re the best way to track down anything you lose with regularity. But how do you attach one to your AirPods?
Turns out, we already covered a product that’ll do the job, but it never occurred to us to use it in conjunction with Tile until we saw this Reddit post. PodPockets cost about $20 and come in a variety of colors, and while they add some bulk to your AirPod case, they do make it harder to drop, and include a built-in keyring that’s perfect for attaching a tracker.
For $5 more, you can opt for a thinner Catalyst case, with a similar keyring. They sent me one of these to try awhile back, and while it makes your AirPod case water-resistant, I don’t love that it makes the lid harder to open. That said, if you play rough with your headphones, it’s a unique and well reviewed. Just be sure to pair it with a water resistant Tile Pro.
Sadly, either of these solutions preclude you from using your AirPods as a fidget spinner. C’est la vie.
