It doesn’t sound very sophisticated if it assumes when the dispenser or motor jams then the bowl is full. That’s probably a good sign for using your own bowl or chute without some over-engineered sensor displaying an error message. Thanks! Read more

Thankfully my cats have no issues drinking water frequently, so feeding dry food has never been an issue. I also just use a standard gravity feeder that was like 20 bucks on amazon. I second the critical need for 5 AM cat feedings. If he doesn’t get fed between 5-6 AM, Boo sits in the kitchen, yowling, then eventually leaps up, perches on the headboard above us, and swats at our heads.
