Uniball Jetstream. Nice bold line, smooth roll, and the only pen with which my crap handwriting doesn’t look like total crap. Also, doesn’t smear even though I’m left-handed. As an added bonus, most people don’t know what to do with it when you had it to them with the cap on.

I’m a TOTAL pen nerd. I love pens. My favorite pens are Uni-ball Signo in 0.38. They are inexpensive, very smooth, feel good in the hand, and can be refilled. If you prefer a thicker line, they come in wider nibs.

The pen my bank gives out for free. Really. Fat, smooth ballpoint that’s just the right length. Not refillable though. Second pick is a Pilot G-2. (Yes, I’m poor.) Read more

It’s not a fancy pen at all, but I love the Pilot G2, especially the .07 mm version in black. It’s a bit pricy for a disposable at about a buck a pen, but they write better than any other pen I care to keep around. I’ll never be a “fancy pen” guy - I lose pens too frequently - so I’ll stick with these.

Uni-Ball Vision Micro. I buy these by the boxes because I love how they write (and they don’t break the bank). I especially like that the pen line isn’t too think unlike a bunch of other gel pens.

Pilot Razor Point II, Super Fine, in blue. These are my go to at work. I mostly write in uppercase block letters and these don’t leave any blobs where I lift the pen.

The Zebra F-301 is the man among boys of ballpoint pens; writes smoothly, holds enough weight so one can't lose it or misplace it easily while maintaining a lightness that doesn't hamper the writing hand.
