My Hoka One Ones. I used to hate running due to it causing severe rubbing on my feet and pain (not the good kind). After getting these shoes, running has actually become enjoyable. Read more

I used to run in Asics too and I liked them but the toe thing (the bunions) was giving me a problem and then they became my gross bar shoes for when I cover barback shifts because they were comfy and prevented me from slipping on bar sludge. Read more

I thought for sure they would work for me since like you I’m not into a ton of cushioning and can get along with minimal arch support, etc. but I’ve sprained my right ankle a couple of times (prior to wearing Frees) and they just murdered my right foot and shin. It’s a bummer because they look cool AF but now they Read more

Brooks Adrenalines are my favorite for the simple fact they are the only women’s running shoes I’ve been able to find that come in my size - 11 1/2 narrow. They are also comfortable and supportive. Read more

Cosigned on New Balance in general — I’m on my fourth pair. Just switched to a more neutral shoe this time around. The toe box is much wider than some of the other brands I’ve tried (Mizuno), and they have enough cushion that it’s comfortable to run on hard surfaces but not to much that it’s overly squishy and Read more

I also subscribe to the thought that too much arch support and too much cushion is actually not that great for you. I’d run in those five finger things if I wasn’t afraid of looking like an asshole. I’ve run in super cushioned shoes and then taken them off and felt like my feet were made of stone when I walked in Read more

And they come in more than one width! Though I think I need a size larger for my second toe, it became very unhappy once my mileage increased.

Really? I have bought tons and tons of running shoes and these are the only ones that don’t hurt the fuck out of my feet. I only run like twice a week though. I alternate running and cycling every few days. My friend runs in them like 3-4 times a week though and has no problem. Read more

I have a pair of Frees and they fucked me up. I was told you shouldn’t run in them more than once or twice a week because of the impact. Read more

Agree. They’re fantastic on concrete and gravel, and they last forever.

Seconded for Asics. I haven’t tried these specifically but I’m on my 3rd pair of Asics and they’ve been great. I love that even when the support starts to give a little, the outside is usually still in pretty good shape so I can still use them for purposes other than exercising. I think I’m going to try the Gel Nimbus Read more
