I am an unapologetic Tilley fanboy and will happily hype their hats at the drop of a, well, hat. The Tilley Hat boasts that it’s “The Best Hat In The World” and it’s not wrong. They’re comfortable, rain and wind-proof, can be fastened to your head in such manner (by a patented system!) that hurricanes can’t remove it… Read more

Regarding the Tilley - you forgot the biggest reason that offsets the high purchase price - the comprehensive warranty. Including replacement for a lost hat. I also prefer the Airflo hat because of the ventilation in the crown. Great hat. Seriously. Read more

It is rare that I’m outside without my Sunday Afternoon hat on. It’s like carrying shade with you everywhere you go. You have to say goodbye to style but that happened long ago for me anyway. Read more

have you looked into a toddler sized soft-sided carrier? Tula makes a toddler sized carrier and Kinderpack makes toddler and preschooler sized carriers. I have a Soul toddler carrier (ships from India) that’s plenty big for my petite 4 year old. Read more

Just my own experience, but I’ve had 2 Garmin Fenix 5, and both had issues with Altimeter/Barometer accuracy when trail running. Total ascent was undervalued by as much as 40% compared to GPS/Survey calculated elevation. They graciously replaced the first, but the second showed the same signs.
I’ve since purchased a… Read more

Re: Ergobaby Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh that you recommend above, to the best of my knowledge it does not require the infant insert that you mentioned. Previous Ergobaby carriers did indeed require the infant insert, but the Omni 360 did away with the inserts by including new adjustment options to keep a newborn secure. Read more

Yet another vote for the Poco. I’ve got the Poco AG. Neighborhood walks, full days out in the city, and a week long hiking vacation in Scotland doing 5 to 8 miles a day. We weren’t exactly Munro Bagging, but it sure as hell wasn’t flat. VERY comfortable for me, and seems pretty comfortable to my kid too...she falls… Read more

The Osprey Poco is freaking awesome. A little pricey but so worth it—same build quality and smart design as their regular packs, and their customer service is stellar. It’s vented enough that it’s great in warm weather, and it’s flexible enough that there’s room to bundle him up and take him for walks in the snow.… Read more

I have the Osprey Poco. Love it. Kids love it too. I have an older version with stirrups so the kids legs aren’t dangling free. Keeps their circulation in their legs free. Super easy to operate yourself. Great for hiking, visiting the zoo, etc. Sunshade makes the price point worth it. Read more
