For the record, I never would’ve taken Jolie up on her offer to try this diet had I known the degree to which it would affect her. I’m truly sorry for what she went through, but I’m glad she was willing to share the experience—it’s painful to read but important. And I want to thank her for the unflinching honesty. Read more

I’m not married but I feel like this is a good enough excuse to post this picture of my cat in a bowtie:

My friend made these masks of our cat’s face and surprised us with them during the group photos before the ceremony. She rules.

Have another pic! I didn’t attach to my original post because the picture quality is awful, but sharing is caring. Our 4 “flower girls” with the ring bearer in the middle.

I forgot that in addition to the sign, Zapata wore a muzzle. He was really well behaved, but it was asking a lot of him. He also rolled in mud right before the ceremony, so his cords had a lot of dried dirt on them.

There is a pond right next to the ceremony site, and we were mildly concerned that Celosa would want to

Yes and no. I’ll explain. Our centerpieces were square vases filled with chocolate brown sand with Tiffany blue and cream flowers and floral pics with various seashells attached. We lived in different cities until we got married, so I was up every weekend helping make this or put together that. I started on the Read more

Correction: Chicken’s title, per the wedding website, was “Director of Hospitality and Tennis Balls.” Everyone was very well behaved and stayed at the party until the end. Since it was at my family’s ranch no one cared that there were dogs around.

Celosa was pretty happy about the fact we got married:

Of course! There were four dogs in our wedding. Our Celosa, a puli, was the best dog/pooch of honor/ring bearer. She wore ribbons in her hair. She led the bridal procession, and she had our rings on a caribiner on her collar and came forward when it was time to exchange rings. My sister’s corgi, Chicken, was our

My dog was our ring bearer. We had him walk with our flower girl, thinking that since she has a 100lb dog at home, she would be able to control our monster.

We wanted our dog, Arthas, to walk down the aisle, and he was supposed to be brought off to the side, but he ended up standing with the groomsmen, so we decided he was just a groomsman and that was that. Makes sense, because he’s totally my husband’s baby. Here he is, being escorted by two bridesmaids. He had a bow

Not my wedding or my pet, but my sister had a beach wedding that included her two pittie babies and young niece and nephews. One nephew spent the whole ceremony digging himself a hole to sit in and the other (my kid) basically made out with one of the dogs the whole time.

We both want him in our wedding SO BADLY (less than a month away!!) but are getting married at my gent’s parents house and thought it would have been rude to say “can you please make arrangements for your dog for the day?” and then bring our own. Hudson was in our engagement photos though!

When I first got engaged, everyone and their mother - and especially my mother! - liked to ask me how I “envision [my] wedding.” I hate attention and photos (and spending money I don’t have). I love other people’s parties and weddings, but have just never liked being the center of attention and never had a bridal Read more

We just had ours on our guest book post card table.

Had a destination wedding, so our greyhound couldn't be there, but she was in the engagement photo.

Our pups got festively decorated with fake flowers and wandered into the ceremony with us (in our backyard so wandering was acceptable). The young one (the curly one) was her usual charming, attentive self. The old one (cookies n cream, best dog ever, RIP) fell asleep under the arbor and snored contentedly through the

We couldn’t have our dogs there on the actual day, but we did find a way to include them. My awesomely-talented sister-in-law drew this super cute cartoon that we made into magnets and sent out as our Save the Dates.

Sort of. We have two cats. Big, old girls. I grew up in the south, where groom’s cakes are a thing (they’re usually funny or about the guy’s interests) and often at the rehearsal dinner. My parents had two cakes made for the rehearsal dinner that were life sized renderings of our cats. It was amazing. A little
