These Socks Are the Only Reason I Didn't Get Blisters After Walking All Over Disney World

Remember me? I asked for your help a few weeks ago looking for sneaker recommendations for walking in Disney World. So many people had wonderful suggestions, and a few people felt the need to call me nasty names for wanting new shoes shortly before a trip. But the real MVPs of the Buy Committee comment section were the people who suggested new socks.

While I went into the Buy Committee looking for sneakers, I had tacked on a request for sock suggestions. After a horrible previous experience with blisters on every one of my toes, I needed help. You guys really came in strong with the suggestions. Once I read your recommendations, and a few Amazon reviews, I bought WrightSocks.

When I went to Universal Orlando Resort in 2018, I was a fool. For a short recap, I wore old shoes that had seen better days. My feet ached every day, all day long. I didn’t have great socks and after all of that walking (20,000 to 25,000 steps a day), I got nasty blisters. I cried every night when I got back to my hotel. For a late twentysomething, I felt like a baby and a grandma at the same time. I was desperate to not have a repeat of this, which is why I paid for expensive blister-preventing socks. I got a few pairs for $12 each on Amazon, though the prices vary and some come in packs, depending on the style you choose. I opted for low ankle socks.

This time around, my friends and I did around the same step count, for six days in a row. We hit Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and both Universal parks in six days. Each day, I wore my new WrightSocks and my toes and heels were blister-free, unlike my friends. They all wore cute Disney or Harry Potter socks and wound up with at least one blister, if not more, by the end of the trip. The sacrifice of not wearing cute socks was well worth it. It’s not like anyone actually saw their socks inside of their shoes, anyway.

These socks are very comfortable and did exactly what I was told they would. The only downside to these socks is how much they cost, as I am used to getting cute socks in packs of three to five for the price of just one pair of WrightSocks. The benefit of buying them on Amazon was that I could return them easily if they hadn’t worked out. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case.
