Leggings That Are Just Really Good Pants

Okay, I am finally mature enough to admit that leggings can be anything they want to be if they try hard enough. Including, and especially, pants. So, why not look for a few good pairs of leggings pants you can rotate into your wardrobe to save you from wearing jeans every day during the months you just can’t show much skin.

I wear these to work out. I wear them around the house. I wear them into the office. I definitely wear them camping because, duh. They are thick enough to feel sturdy, but don’t get uncomfortable or slide down. Plus, the pocket is just so damn clutch.

When I purchased Uniqlo’s original fleece-lined HeatTech leggings, I was sure they’d be the bottoms I wore for three months straight. Except they were more like footless tights, too thin and loose-knit (but great to wear around the house). Enter their Ultra Warm leggings that feel like the best pair of sweatpants and the best pair of leggings had a beautiful, soft baby.

Yes, Alala leggings are freakin expensive, but I’ve had the same pair for three years and they look brand spankin’ new. I opt for the cropped styles, because they’re still at my ankles being that I’m 5'1". They aren’t trying to be anything other than really good leggings, which is what makes them even better as pants.

Are these pants? Are these leggings? Who cares because they’re stretchy, sturdy, and have pockets that actually fit shit other than a tube of chapstick and a hair tie. Freakin’ thank you, Athleta.

Okay, these actually are pants. But if you take away the zipper in the back, they’re really just leggings with a personality disorder. I’ve had mine through college and four jobs (and countless job interviews), and they still look polished. Back then, they were known as the Pixie Pant. Bonus points for not having to wear a long shirt to cover anything.
