Pelican's Vertical Entry Into The Cooler Craze Focuses On Manageability

YETI madness has sparked stiff competition from the likes of RTIC, Otterbox (which we’ll be checking out soon), and even Monoprice. Like the travel mug space, the ice retention arms race has reached a state of diminishing returns, and innovation needs to come from elsewhere. Pelican has responded with a 20QT cooler you can carry with one hand.

The Pelican 20QT Cooler weighs in at 12.5 lbs and can hold 15 cans or 4 bottles of wine upright. Their site boasts 3 days of ice retention, while Amazon says 10, so we’re going with the former. Where the 20QT shines, beyond that amazing seafoam color, is in its carry-ability. The back of the cooler is grooved so you can lean the whole thing against your leg while hauling, and that paired with the great handle makes moving this thing much less of a mission.

Beyond that the unit has self-draining cup holders, a bottle opener, and very satisfying latches instead of those annoying toggles. It’s also guaranteed forever.
