I recommend the results explicitly identify heaters the preserve their settings when unplugged. This makes controlling them with a smart plug much better. My heater defaults to MAX temp when powered on. I’d control it via a smart plug if it would recall I set to to 70 degrees when I power it off. Read more

The ones that look like a old school radiator and are filled with oil. They don’t blow hot air right on you, but will warm up a room faster than one that does. In fact, I found that one of these would heat my small house cheaper than using the central heating with LP gas.

I like the tall quartz heaters because they’re directional and that’s what I need when I’m sitting in my easy chair, the rest of the house can freeze for all I care.
