It’s no secret that Target has been low-key amazing when it comes to home goods, but their newest launch, Opalhouse, may tip the scales into mainstream territory.
The eclectic, eccentric, over-the-top launch features over 1,300 different pieces to choose from. There’s everything from the practical, like a statement coffee table, to the ostentatious, such as this gold, floral chandelier. The bulk of the collection is priced under $30, with a lot in the $2-$5 range, so you can easily fill up a cart (or two, because you’ll want to come back for more).
According to the retailer’s press release, “Opalhouse is another perfect example of how Target offers our guests incredible design and great quality at a truly unbeatable value. That’s something you can find only at Target,” says Mark Tritton, Target’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. It’s an aesthetically-pleasing (and wallet-friendly) addition to Target’s usual offerings of mid-century-inspired chairs and utilitarian office furniture, normally found next to the toilet plungers and affordable skin care.
Opalhouse promises to amaze with bright colors and bold patterns, with lots of birds and flowers threaded throughout jewel and gold tones. While most won’t be outfitting an entire room in pieces from the collection, it’s a real testament to Target’s inspirational mark on home and interior decorating. It’s a style that begs for a prominent place in your home, and will get all types of reactions when you tell people that tufted velvet arm chair is from Target.
