We see a lot of deals around the web over on Kinja Deals, but these were our ten favorites today.
Head over to our main post for more deals, and follow us on Twitter and Facebook to never miss a chance to save. You can also join our Kinja Deals Community Facebook group to connect with your fellow deal hunters.
#1: A Smart Thermostat
The Nest Learning Thermostat usually costs $250, or maybe $200 if you find a good sale, but today at Home Depot, you can pick up a refurb of the previous generation model for only $139. The only real difference between this and the current edition is that it has a smaller screen, and it’s not like you’re watching movies on the thing.
#2: Discounted Xbox Gift Cards
Whether you prefer to buy all of your games digitally, or just use Xbox credit to purchase DLC, any Xbox owner would be wise to save 20% on $50 and $100 gift cards with promo code FLASH20.
Note: You’ll need to log into a Rakuten account to enter the code, you won’t have the option if you use guest checkout.
#3: A 65" 4K SAMSUNG TV
Samsung’s quantum dot-powered Q7 TV isn’t exactly easy on the bank account, but it would be a stunning upgrade to your home theater, and you can once again save $1000 on the 65" Q7F today, if you missed the deal last month.
You can read all about quantum dots here, but the long and short of it that they’re the backbone of a backlighting technology that can produce OLED-quality images on a less expensive LCD panel.
Okay, so with that background out of the way, Samsung’s 2017 Q-series TVs utilize quantum dots to great effect. That Gizmodo review is about the Q9, rather than the Q7 that’s on sale today, but most of it should apply to either set. The Q7 has fewer local dimming zones and a less-premium industrial design, but it’ll still be the best looking TV you’ve ever owned. The 65" model currently sells for $2700 on Amazon (and that’s an all-time low), but you can get it for $1800 from MassDrop.
#4: Some Colorful Bias Lighting
We see a lot of deals on home theater bias lights, but even by our standards, $9 is insanely cheap for an RGB model. Just stick it to the back of your TV, plug it into a USB port, and control it with the included remote.
#5: Playstation VR
If you’ve entertained any stray thoughts about buying PlayStation VR, today’s the day you want to do it. $280 gets you the headset and the PS4 camera (with promo code 100VRSAVE), $20 less than our previous deal mention, and the best price we’ve ever seen.
Just note that you’ll need to purchase Sony’s Move controllers to play a number of games.
As some have pointed out in the comments, a new version of the headset with HDR passthrough and built-in headphones is coming “soon,” but it’ll likely cost more.
#6: Remington’s Beard Trimmer
The Remington MB4900 has everything you need to to groom your beard or maintain your sexy stubble, and you can take advantage of two nice discounts right now. First and foremost, its $50 list price is the best Amazon’s ever listed. Then, a $10 clippable coupon sweetens the deal even further.
#7: Discounted Gaming Gear
TwitchCon 2017 kicked off today, and Amazon’s celebrating the best way they know how: With a sale. Save 20% on any of the gaming peripherals you see on this page with promo code TWITCHCON20, including popular gear from Logitech, Razer, Corsair, and more.
#8: A WI-FI OBD2 SCANNER
You’ve heard of Automatic’s smart driving assistant, but if $80 is too rich for your blood, this cheap OBD2 dongle connects to any iPhone or Android device over Wi-Fi, and can fulfill many of the same functions using various third party apps.
The most obvious use case here is understanding and clearing check engine codes, but these things give you access to pretty much all of the sensor data in your vehicle, at a much more granular level than you’d get from all of the symbols in your instrument cluster.
#9: A Logitech Security Camera
Logitech’s Circle home security camera can alert you to movement, let you check in on your cats from work, and act as an intercom, just like basically every other internet-connected security camera these days. But it’s unique in its ability to cut the most interesting things it sees each day into a 60 second highlight reel, all automatically.
It was a pretty solid piece of kit at its original $200, but at just $120, this is a really great chance to join the smart camera club.
#10: MONSTER MOVIES FOR EVERYONE
We’ve posted a couple of deals on classic monster DVDs lately, but this one’s a Blu-ray, and it’s cheaper than ever.
This 8-disc collection includes all the classics like original Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Phantom of the Opera, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and a bunch more for just $36.
This set normally sells for at least $60, so grab your copy before it grabs you.
