WOMEN’S MUST HAVES
No shame in the buying in bulk game. Stocking up on closet staples is a great way to always have something to wear (and not tear your closet up looking for something). The Day-to-Night Look is the most elusive when talking about closet staples, but hidden in plain sight in the Mango 50% off sale, is the perfect one.
As a woman with boobs, it’s sometimes hard to justify spending a ridiculous amount of money just to support things attached to myself. And, when I do get around to dragging myself out to finally replace the bras I “accidentally” put through the wash, it’s an incredibly annoying experience (looking at you Victoria’s Secret).
While Journelle may not be on every street corner in every major city, the lingerie destination is slowly making a name for itself, and with the semi-annual sale going on right now, you should know about it too. Good bras (read: bras that are supportive, comfortable, and attractive) are rarely under $50. But with the sale going on, you end up with brands like Dita Von Teese, L’Agent, Stella McCartney and more for prices that rival VS, but are much, much better. Plus, unlike the Victoria’s Secret trips of yonder years, if your boobs are bigger than a DD cup, you’ll actually find something.
Button-downs in the summer are my enemy. On my search for the anti-button-down, there comes a time when you just need to compromise a little bit. Opt for a little bit of color and maybe a popover instead. This guy from Front Row Shop is my 100% cotton angel. Plus, it’s on sale for $33 and that’s just a price you can’t beat.
Men’S Must haves
The best undershirts you can buy are back down to $8. Uniqlo’s AIRism is the best solution to the disgustingly humid weather happening right now (maybe only second to sitting around in your underwear in the AC).
Hautelook may not be your #1 destination, but the amount of awesome menswear sales they have shouldn’t surprise you, since it is part of Nordstrom. Right now, there’s a huge sale on Adidas, with styles as low as $30. You do have to sign up for emails, but it’s worth it.
If the perfect chambray shirt existed..wait no, it definitely does. The Slim Fit Chambray from J.Crew Factory is everything you want and need in a chambray. Cotton, lightweight, washable, not too-blue. And when it’s on sale (with an extra 50% off using the code CLEARIT), you buy a few of them just in case.
beauty steals
The best part of ordering from Sephora online is the three free samples you get with every purchase. If you don’t think so, you need to reassess your online beauty shopping priorities. Well, this week they’re not giving you three, they’re giving you five and those include cult-favorite products like NARS Orgasm and newer ones like Benefit’s new Good Proof eyebrow pencil.
So, it may play second fiddle to the classic Elnett hairpsray, but Big Sexy Hair’s Spray & Play is a great alternative if you just can’t get past the smell of the L’Oreal. On sale right now, you’ll thank me later if red is more your color than gold.
Whether or not you remove your unwanted hair is one thing; the debate that shaving and/or waxing at home is the worst thing ever is barely a debate at all. The Tria is probably the greatest solution out there for those of us that take hair off and want it to stay that way, without frequenting the waxer so much she can recognize you by your follicles.
The sucky thing about at-home hair removal is it’s incredibly inconvenient (and the fact that contorting yourself in the shower to shave the back of your knee should be an Olympic sport). The Tria, which is $50 off it’s regular price at Sephora, is a pretty great investment for those of us with some fuzz in places we think should be smooth. The amount of money this will save you from going to the salon to get waxed and threaded and all those things, will pay for itself quicker than you can say “Who wears short shorts?”
Finding the perfect bronzer for your skin tone is a probably as hard (if not harder) than finding the perfect foundation. It feels like it shouldn’t be that difficult but it really is. So, why not get every shade you could possibly need, in one little book, for only a little more than one bronzer. The Little Black Book of Bronzer from Too Faced (on sale for $44) is a gift from the bronzer gods. Are there such thing? Maybe.
HOUSEWARES
With 20% off bedding at West Elm, it’s kind of hard not to make an excuse to get a new duvet cover. Your dreams will thank you.
