The last time you saw one of these labelers, your mom was probably using it to print your contact information on school supplies. They're actually really handy though, and at $10, you might as well keep one around the house.
If you need convincing, consider that this particular model is Amazon's #1 seller, and is manufactured by Brother, which makes some of the best printers on the market. It also takes 3/8" and 1/2" label tape, and comes with a black on white spool to get you started. The best feature though is clearly the three included interchangeable face plates, because you simply can't be expected to walk around with a label maker that doesn't match your sense of style.
The price on this model fluctuates pretty often, but it frequently sells for $25 or more, and $10 is historically as low as it has gone. We wouldn't be surprised if it sells out at this price fairly quickly, so be sure to grab it while you can. [Amazon Office Depot]
