Women’s Must-haves

I continue to say this over and over again until you listen. The BEST TIME to buy winter apparel and boots is before and after the season starts. Take this The North Face Dunagiri Parka. Normally almost $300, usually around $150-$200 on bargain sites, but marked down to $110 at Nordstrom Rack (and pretty much every size is in stock).

Flannels are great but for some reason are never priced reasonably enough to warrant a new one (even if the one you have has holes in the elbows). But alas! Uniqlo has them marked down to only $20, both men’s and women’s styles. You don’t need to be a hipster or a lumberjack to wear these, I promise (unless you are one, then cool).

beauty steals

The Tria is probably the greatest solution out there for those of us that take hair off and want it to stay that way, without frequenting the waxer so much she can recognize you by your follicles. (And, FWIW, last time the price was this low, you bought them all.)

The sucky thing about at-home hair removal is it’s incredibly inconvenient (and the fact that contorting yourself in the shower to shave the back of your knee should be an Olympic sport). The Tria, which is $50 off its regular price at Sephora, is a pretty great investment for those of us with some fuzz in places we think should be smooth. The amount of money this will save you from going to the salon to get waxed and threaded and all those things, will pay for itself quicker than you can say “Who wears short shorts?”

Edit note: On Tria’s website, you can grab it for only $382.

Home Goods

You’re never going to believe this, but there are some good deals on copper string lights today.

$10 gets you either a 19', 120-bulb strand with a solar panel and battery, or a 33', 100-LED strand with a remote and adjustable brightness. You can’t go wrong either way; just be sure to note the promo codes below.

The Big Sales

Man, I am so ready for fall. And with 50% off select fall styles from H&M, my wardrobe will be too. Everything from Chelsea boots to a new raincoat to a few really nice looking sweaters, stock up on some staples for cheap.

Anthropologie consistently churns out adorable clothing, and with 40% off sale items, you can also look consistently adorable. The 40% goes towards sweaters and tunics, and tons of really great home goods and accessories.

A lot of Free People’s denim is over $200, which in my opinion is too much for jeans. But a few hidden gems (most of them Levi’s) are mixed in, and with 25% off all denim right now, you can grab a unique pair of jeans for about $50.

I currently have 10 things in my cart as I write this post. The ModCloth sale is up to 60% off and is full of all the cutest, vintage-inspired dresses and tops and shoes. Get really, really awesome things for whatever including cocktail dresses, heels, and even home goods. Okay, now it’s 11.

Steve Madden has been a pretty reliable source for trendy “knock-off” versions of your favorite shoes that you’d never pay full price for. Take advantage of an extra 30% off all clearance styles when you use the code BONUS30 at checkout.

I really, really love when brands make up sale names, just to give their discounts a theme. Use the code YESPLEASE at Madewell and get 25% off full-price “Yes, Please” styles. Do not ask me what a “Yes, Please” style is; I cannot for the life of me make a guess.

The best part of not actually going back to school is participating in all of the back to school sales. Take Levi’s, for example. They’re marking down select new men’s and women’s styles up to 40% off. And you don’t have to be in school (or pretend you are) to get in on the discounts.

Uniqlo’s AIRism is one of those lines that people continue to go back to. The boxer briefs always sell out quickly when there’s a sale, and even your favorite undershirt is part of the AIRism line. And right now, Uniqlo is marking down select AIRism products for under $10. Grab new underwear for only $6 or a new tank top for $8. The world is your cool, breathable oyster.

Timbuk2's Back to School Sale is not something you want to miss. Grab one a new TSA-Friendly messenger bag or one of the new roll-top Tuck Backpacks for 25% off. Be sure to let us know what you pick up in the comments.

It’s really freakin’ hot in New York. I only own two pairs of shorts because I glutton for punishment (also shorts are annoying, but necessary). If you also have this problem, Urban Outfitters is giving an extra 30% off all sale shorts (men’s and women’s styles) so your legs will be free, finally.

The heat is raging on but that doesn’t mean your mind can’t be on the cooler months. Patagonia’s 30% off sale is full of cold-weather staples like their Nano-Air Jacket and Ultralight Down Vest (plus a few summer styles leftover as well). Stock up on men’s and women’s styles while the prices are way low.

The best pair of jeans I ever bought were BDG jeans from Urban Outfitters. They lasted me through high school and into college before basically disintegrating. Now’s your chance to find your own best pair of jeans with $20 off all BDG brand jeans at Urban.

Benefit Cosmetics is by far one of my favorite makeup brands. The products are high-quality and the packaging is one-of-a-kind. I know I’ll be stocking up during their SALE-abration, with up to 50% off some really awesome limited edition sets and free shipping with the code SHIP25. You’d better too.

Can’t wait for fall? Neither can Sperry. They’re marking down their fall styles to $75 for both men and women. So if you need a new pair of boat shoes, now the chance to grab a pair for $20 off.

There’s just something about underwear covered in fun things that makes you much more likely to buy them. With 3-for-$20 lingerie and undies at Topshop, you can either go for the sexy, lace underpinnings, or get some covered in Where’s Waldo. Your choice.
