This Is Ground, maker of all things leather, has created the perfect backpack for basically anyone with a laptop (which is basically everyone).
The Venture Backpack is the perfect companion for commuters, with its dedicated and hidden (!) pockets, Tile integration, and microfiber lining that will clean your tablet screen while you’re out.
I’ve longed for this thing since I first saw it when it went live at the beginning of the year. Right now, I’m sitting here smelling it and stroking it like it’s my child. It’s soft. Like, perfectly soft. The leather and accompanying hardware feel sturdy and durable, but look expensive and sleek. I never thought I’d describe a backpack as “sleek” but here we are.
There are plenty of function-over-form bags out there. But The Venture Backpack does what a lot of others don’t. This Is Ground combined form with function and out came a beautifully designed, impeccably crafted bag. If there was a word other than backpack that better described something that doesn’t conjure up images of the one-shoulder glory days of Jansports, the Venture Backpack deserves it.
Getting into the nitty-gritty of specs, The Mini, which is 10.5" x 13.5", perfectly fits my 13" MacBook Air in the dedicated laptop section. It also comes in a Regular size (11.5" x 16.25"), which will fit even the bulky 15" MacBook. The front pouch has areas for your phone or iPod. It would even fit a wallet, notebook, or passport.
The Tile fits in a small, hidden pocket inside the main compartment of the back, completely out of the way. Yeah, GPS is included, so you don’t need to worry about losing it if you’re a little scatterbrained and/or irresponsible. Plus, it’s TSA-friendly, meaning the whole front folds down to a “tray” without having to maneuver around the rest of your stuff. There’s also the option to add Karma Wi-Fi, which fits in the front pouch nice and snug.
The Venture Backpack is the backpack you’ll actually look cool wearing.
