Everlane put its best pants forward earlier this year with its new Performance Chino, which boasted the comfort and four way stretch of “active” pants, without the weird, crinkly, technical-looking fabric that had come to define the genre.
Now, as the weather starts to heat up, you can enjoy all of the same benefits in the company’s new Performance Chino Shorts:
Rather than loud, crinkly, weirdly shiny athletic fabric with a baggy fit, the slim and modern looking Performance Chinos are made from a simple blend of 94% cotton, plus 6% elastane to provide a little bit of stretch, just like the company’s terrific jeans. The fabric is on the thin side to allow for greater breathability and sweat wicking...They look like chinos, but they feel like something you could run a few miles in if you needed to.
Available in both 7" and 9" lengths, these are basically just the performance chinos you know and love, but with most of the legs (plus $13) chopped off. They’re slim and flattering, moisture wicking, very breathable, and just stretchy enough without being, like, weird about it. They’re certainly not workout shorts with an elastic waistband by any means, but they’re nearly as comfortable to walk around in, while still looking nice enough to wear out to an overpriced patio tapas dinner with a few bottles of wine, or whatever.
